Aer Lingus has appointed Andrew Macfarlane as its new interim chief financial officer.
Mr Macfarlane is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountant and holds an MA in Economics from Selwyn College, Cambridge.
The 53-year-old will join the group with immediate effect.
Mr Macfarlane was recently chief financial officer of Rentokil Initial.
Earlier this month, Sean Coyle said he was stepping down from the position after joining the airline from Ryanair only 17 months ago. A statement from Aer Lingus said Mr Coyle would leave his job by mutual agreement.
RTÉ also understands that former chief operating officer with failed Cork-based Jetmagic has been appointed in a network planning capacity with Aer Lingus.
Jochen Schnadt was also managing director of Expressjet Europe following his time with Jetmagic which collapsed in 2004 after ten months in operation after failing to attract sufficient customers.
