90 jobs to go in EP Mooney liquidation

Paraic Mooney, CEO of EP Mooney Garages, has confirmed that the company has been put into provisional liquidation since this morning at the behest of the directors.

The family-run Dublin business, best known as a Nissan dealer, was founded in 1971.

Paul McCann of Grant Thornton has been appointed as liquidator. The company had reduced overheads by 60% in the last year and cut staff numbers during the same period from 250 to 93. These remaining jobs will now be lost. 20 staff are being retained over the next few weeks to deal with customers' issues.

CEO Paraic Mooney has said that customers who have placed deposits will be facilitated either by returning their deposits or by asking a partner franchise to facilitate a purchase.
