Travel firm chief top ethnic entrepreneur

The chief executive of an Irish travel company has been named as the Permanent TSB Ethnic Entrepreneur of the Year. Darryl Ismael, who is half -Irish and half-Brazilian, founded Chase Travel in 1990.

The Dublin company now has offices in seven countries and has agreements with 45,000 hotels around the world. The firm's clients include some of the world's largest travel agencies.

The Ethnic Entrepreneur Awards, which are in their third year, recognise and encourage entrepreneurship amongst ethnic communities in Ireland.
