Stay on Carroll winding up orders

ACCBank - Orders against Carroll firms granted

The High Court has granted winding up orders brought against two of property developer Liam Carroll's companies by ACCBank.

But Mr Justice Frank Clarke imposed a stay on the orders pending an appeal by the Zoe Group in the Supreme Court.

Mr Justice Clarke also declined to extend the protection of the High Court to the Zoe companies in the examinership application.

Vantive Holdings and Morston Investments are the two lynchpins of Liam Carroll's property empire. Winding up orders against both companies have been granted but a stay has been placed on the orders, pending an appeal to the Supreme Court of the High Court's decision to refuse the Zoe group its second application for examinership.

ACCBank already has receivers appointed to four of Liam Carroll's companies. Today's decision by the High Court not to extend its protection to the Zoe Group will allow ACC to move to protect its interests.

Declan Taite of FGS has been acting as provisional liquidator to the Zoe Group. Today he was appointed official liquidator but he will continue in his current role as long as the stay on the winding up orders continues.

The Supreme Court is not expected to hear Zoe's appeal until early next week.
