The country's competitiveness performance has worsened, according to the annual Global Competitiveness Report published today. Ireland has dropped three places to 25th out of 130 countries surveyed.
The report, from the World Economic Forum, says the decline focuses attention on the country's weaker ability to deal with the exceptional global financial and economic crises.
A deterioration in the country's financial markets and the efficiency of both goods and labour markets account for most of the decline as well as a worsening across a range of international stability indicators.
