The report of the Commission on Taxation will be published on the Department of Finance website on Monday.
The decision to publish was taken at today's cabinet meeting, when ministers considered the contents of the report. The tax report, along with the recommendations of Colm McCarthy's group on spending, will feed into the Government's Budget deliberations.
The commission - chaired by former head of the Revenue Frank Daly - was established early last year with a remit to review the structure of the tax system.
It has been widely reported as likely to recommend sweeping changes in the tax code, and the introduction of a property tax as well as a carbon tax favoured by the Green Party. But both Taoiseach Brian Cowen and his Finance Minister have distanced themselves from the former while Brian Lenihan has said the current taxation burden is high enough.
Ministers were briefed on the recommendations today at their regular cabinet which also discussed the progress of the National Asset Management Agency legislation. RTE news understands that the Attorney General is considering changes in the bill which may see ministers meeting again later in the week.
