Providence Resources has increased production levels at its Vermillion 60 field in the Gulf of Mexico. It has a 50% working interest in the field.

The company said that after re-completion activities carried out last month, the new production zone is currently flowing at about 10 million standard cubic feet of gas per day. This is double the previously reported figure.

Vermillion 60 is located about 20 kilometres south of the Louisiana coast and lies in about 40 feet of water. It was discovered in 1975.
