Tullow Uganda find, Providence well starts

Tullow Oil has made another oil discovery after further drilling in Uganda.

It said the Nsoga-1 exploration well, which is located in the Butiaba region of Uganda Block 2, had encountered 'good quality' oil bearing reservoirs.

Tullow says Nsoga-1 is the seventh successful test of the Victoria Nile Delta site within the Lake Albert Rift Basin. The well is now being suspended as a future oil producer.

Tullow has interests in three licences in the Lake Albert Rift Basin in Uganda. Tullow operates Block 2 with a 100% interest and has a 50% interest in Blocks 1 and 3A which are operated by Heritage Oil (50%).

Providence UK well is producing

Meanwhile, Dublin-listed exploration company Providence Resources says the Singleton SNX-10 development well in England is now producing ahead of expectations.

It says the well was brought on to production on April 27 and is producing at an average rate of 250 barrels of oil a day (bopd), compared with a previous estimate of 150 bopd.

Providence holds a 99.125% interest and operates the Singleton field, with Noble Energy holding the remaining 0.875%.
