Unions and management at the Lufthansa Technic Airmotives plant in Rathcoole in Dublin have accepted an invitation to talks at the Labour Court next Thursday.
The three unions at the company had written to the court seeking a last-minute intervention in the dispute at the company, which threatens 475 jobs.
Following an emergency telephone conference this morning, the company said it would accept the invitation to attend talks but emphasised what it called 'the absolutely time-critical nature of achieving a final resolution'.
Staff at the plant voted against the company's cost-cutting proposals yesterday, despite a warning that the facility could close if the proposals were rejected.
The company carries out maintenance and repair work on aircraft engines.
Unions have welcomed the firm's decision to engage in talks at the Labour Court.
