Ryanair carried 4.7 million passengers in March, which represents an increase of 200,000, or 5%, on the same month last year.
Figures released today show that the low fares airline carried 58.6 million passengers in the 12 months to the end of March.
However, the load factor in March, or the percentage of seats taken up dropped 2% to 77%. The 12-month load factor stood at 81%.
