The Government has appointed UCD Professor Niamh Brennan as chairman of the Dublin Docklands Development Authority in succession to businessman Gerry McCaughey.
Mr McCaughey resigned earlier this week after revelations about his use of a tax loophole following the sale of his company Century Homes.
Ms Brennan is academic director of the Centre for Corporate Governance at UCD. She is a non-executive director of Ulster Bank and of the Health Services Executive.
'I'm very happy that Niamh has agreed to chair the DDDA, and I look forward to her getting to grips with the complex work of the authority and giving it the strong direction it deserves,' said Environment Minister John Gormley.
