Tesco Ireland says it is introducing euro for sterling price parity on all its clothing products from next Monday.

The company says customers will pay the sterling price in euro on all its 7,500 clothing lines.

Tesco says the move is part of a €20m investment and will mean that all clothes and fashion items will now be 7% cheaper than in the UK or the North, at current exchange rate levels.

For example, an item priced at £10 will now cost €10 in its 75 stores in the Republic.

Tesco's Commercial Director Jacqueline O'Neill said customers need not travel to Northern Ireland now as they will now benefit at home from this long term initiative.
