The High Court has appointed a liquidator to four of 13 companies in the Thomas Read group.
Another nine companies in the group will continue to operate under court protection after the court extended the examinership period. A survival plan for those companies is being finalised.
The companies to be liquidated are Eatoncroft, Jestdale, Kadaran and Topart.
The Thomas Read group operates a number of outlets including The Life Bar in Abbey Street in Dublin, Bodega in Dun Laoghaire and Thomas Reads in Smithfield, Dublin.
Last week the High Court heard that bids for the group had been advanced by a consortium and by ACC bank, the group's largest creditor.
