Shannon Airport has welcomed the decision of CityJet Air France to base an aircraft there as part of their expansion of the Paris (Charles De Gaulle) service.
The move will see the morning departure from Shannon move forward to 6.30am from 9.35am currently.
Shannon Airport Director Martin Moroney described the move as a 'significant boost' to the airport's connectivity.
'Doubling the capacity and bringing forward morning departure to 6.30am on the Charles de Gaulle Paris route is a huge boost, not just to Shannon Airport but the entire West of Ireland,' said Mr Moroney.
CityJet set up the new Paris route following Aer Lingus' decision to withdraw its Shannon to London Heathrow service, a move with drew widespread criticism for the former State airline.
