Polish bank BZ WBK has denied a report that it is to be sold by parent bank AIB.
The Parkiet newspaper, quoting an unnamed source inside BZ WBK, said the bank was to be sold 'soon', and speculated that the deal could be worth around up to €1.85 billion.
'We deny these rumours,' a BZ WBK spokesman said. BZ WBK, one of the top 20 Warsaw-listed companies, is now valued at four times its Irish owner, after the recent plunge in AIB's share price.
