Smurfit Kappa has appointed CRH's chief executive Liam O'Mahony as Chairman of the board. He replaces Sean Fitzpatrick who resigned last week.
Liam O' Mahony joined the Smufit Kappa board in March 2007 and has served as the company's senior independent director since then.
He retires at the end of the month as CRH's CEO - a position he has held since January 2000 having joined CRH in 1971. He will remain on CRH's board.
