20% of companies do not foresee an increase in the salaries of chief executives in 2009, a new survey shows.
The results of the Irish Management Institute's survey of executive salaries in Ireland shows that managerial sales rose by an average of 5.3% in 2008. This compares with a rise of 7.1% in the previous survey year.
CEOs of firms with an annual turnover of over €500m were the best paid in 2008, the survey shows. They earned an average of €386,000. Companies with a turnover of up to €25m earned an average of €139,000.
