Pharmaceutical and healthcare services company United Drug has bought UK medicines maker The Specials Laboratory Holdings (TSL) for £20.1m (€23.8m) in cash.
TSL, based in the north-east of England, makes unlicensed medicines, known as 'specials' for the retail pharmaceutical and hospital markets in the UK. The company employs 120 people at three sites.
United Drug may pay an additional amount of up to £4.5m depending on TSL's profits over the next two years. TSL will be integrated into United Drug's Pharma Wholesale business.
