Jameson continues to be one of the best performing brands belonging to international drinks group Pernod Ricard.
In the first three months of the company's financial year, Pernod Ricard said that Jameson whiskey sales grew by 17% year-on-year, and volumes were up 10%.
Pernod Ricard owns Irish Distillers, and is the world's second biggest drinks group after Diageo.
The company's results beat analysts' expectations on the back of the purchase of the Absolut vodka brand and stronger Asian demand for imported spirits.
Revenues rose by 13% to €1.76 billion in the three months to September, from €1.56 billion a year earlier.
Overall, the company reported organic profit growth of 7% in the first three months of its financial year in 2009. Despite the economic slowdown, it has also confirmed its full year guidance of 8% profit growth for the financial year 2008 / 2009 as a whole.
Pernod Ricard said that Ireland, the UK and Spain all showed year on year sales declines and were the weakest markets. There was moderate growth in Germany, France, Scandinavia and Switzerland, it added.
