The euro fell below $1.25 this morning, hitting another two-year low on expectations of euro zone interest rate cuts and slowing economic growth amid the global financial crisis.

The single European single currency dived as low as $1.2497, which was last seen in October 2006.

The euro had fallen slightly to $1.2640 this evening. It was also worth 79.68 pence sterling.
