The Irish Continental Group held its extraordinary general meeting today, as the battle for control of the company - which owns Irish Ferries - continues.
ICG is an acquisition target both for a management team and for a private sector interests group.
The private sector group goes under the name Moonduster, and is made up of Philip Lynch's One51 and the Cork-based Doyle Group.
Last night Moonduster requested an adjournment of today's EGM for six weeks to allow it time to talk to other shareholders with a view to making an offer for ICG.
The request was turned down and the EGM went ahead, with Moonduster voting against various motions dealing with a share buyback scheme.
This evening Moonduster issued a statement saying it is willing to try to break the shareholder statemate at ICG.
Moonduster owns around 26% of ICG, while the management team led by ICG boss Eamon Rothwell controls around 21%. The property developer Liam Carroll owns a further approximately 26%.
