Management buy-out at Merrion Capital

The management team of stockbroker Merrion Capital has agreed to buy all the shares held in the company by Icelandic bank Landsbanki for an undisclosed sum.

The deal is subject to the approval of the Irish Financial Regulator.

Last week the Icelandic government took over Landsbanki, the country's second largest bank.

Earlier this month, Landsbanki said it had sold its 84% stake in Merrion to Icelandic investment bank Straumur-Burdaras, but this deal fell through.
