The Unite trade union has suspended industrial action at insurance group Hibernian after what it described as a breakthrough in talks with management.
Union members had given Unite a mandate for action over the company's plans to to transfer 580 jobs to India. The union says stoppages had been expected to start within the next ten days.
In a statement, Unite said a breakthrough meant talks would start tomorrow on the cost challenges faced by Hibernian, and on seeking to maximise the number of sustainable jobs retained by the insurer in Ireland.
'Both sides have taken the decision to redirect their efforts towards finding an agreement,' said Unite national officer Jerry Shanahan.
