Taoiseach Brian Cowen says contracts worth €12m have been agreed between a number of firms backed by Enterprise Ireland and their US customers.
The announcement was made after an Enterprise Ireland business breakfast for Irish companies and their customers in the New York Stock Exchange today.
The Taoiseach also opened today's session of the New York Stock Exchange by ringing the traditional bell, which signals the start of trading.
Mr Cowen later met with Enterprise Ireland's North American Financial Services Advisory Board, which consists of ten senior Wall Street executives, many of whom are Irish or Irish American. They assist Irish companies targeting the North American financial services sector.
Irish companies which announced big contracts with US customers this week include: Realtime Technologies; Cúram Software; VigiTrust; Cartoon Saloon; Advanced Innovations and ValidSoft.
