Food group Glanbia is to lay off 35 people at its Glenville milk facility in Waterford.
The company's consumer foods division is transferring milk packing operations at the Glenville site to another plant at Ballitore, Co Kildare at the end of September.
Glanbia says 11 jobs are being retained at Glenville to continue with order assembly.
A spokesperson for Glanbia said the decision was made following a 'detailed strategic review' of all liquid milk operations in the light of increased manufacturing costs.
The spokesperson said the decision would secure the competitiveness of the business in the future.
