Life assurance company Eagle Star has announced that it is to adopt the brand of the Zurich Group.
Eagle Star has been a part of Zurich for over ten years and will carry the brand across all life and general insurance business in Ireland.
The Eagle Star name will not disappear altogether, however, and will remain on the firm's pension, investment and protection product range.
Commenting on the move, Eagle Star CEO Michael Brennan said: 'In today's challenging times, I think customers will value knowing more about Zurich's outstanding global financial strength and stability.'
Swiss-based Zurich was founded in 1872 and it employs around 60,000 people in more than 170 countries.
