The group chief executive of Swiss-based aircraft maintenance firm SR Technics met staff at its Dublin operation this morning amid concerns about financial pressures facing the company.
Earlier this year, SRT lost three of its four maintenance contracts with Aer Lingus. Last week, it announced it would not be paying staff the final phase of the national wage agreement Towards 2016 and said that this was partly due to the loss of the Aer Lingus contracts.
The company has set out a number of cost-cutting and productivity reforms - including 12-hour and overnight rosters - which it wants staff to accept by Friday.
Shop stewards representing the craft unions at SRT met with group chief executive Bernd Kessler before the talks.
SRT employs 1,200 staff, rising to 1,500 during seasonal peaks. Most are based at its operation in Dublin Airport.
