Postbank has launched its new current account at Postbank branches and participating post offices around the country.
Postbank is a joint venture between An Post and Fortis Bank and is available in over 270 post offices.
Postbank says the new Everyday Account offers free banking on every day transactions, without conditions or hidden penalties. It includes an ATM/debit card, access to overdraft facilities and a saver option.
Customers can carry out their everyday transactions in the post office, at ATMs and at shops displaying the Maestro symbol.
Almost 1,000 post offices are expected to provide full banking services by the end of summer.
