Tánaiste and Finance Minister Brian Cowen has appointed Dr Brian Hillery and Dermot O'Brien as directors of the Central Bank and Financial Services Authority of Ireland.
They replace Roy Donovan and Dr Martin O' Donoghue, who will be stepping down.
Jim Farrell, currently a member of the Irish Financial Services Regulatory Authority, is to be appointed chairman of that authority to replace Brian Patterson. Tony Grimes will fill the new vacancy on the authority.
The Tánaiste has also approved a proposal to re-appoint Mary O'Dea as consumer director for another term. All the appointments take effect from May 1.
