The developer of a west Dublin housing scheme is offering a 'cash back' guarantee to home buyers. This is the latest in a series of moves by builders and developers to try to attract interest in a slowing housing market.
Ballynakelly had launched a development of 16 five-bedroom homes at Parson's Court, Newcastle. It says it will guarantee to buy back homes at their original price for five years from the date of sale, after the first 18 months.
The building company involved, Walsh Maguire, says the plan is aimed at addressing buyers' worries about negative equity in an uncertain market. The prices of the houses involved start at €595,000, though they were initally launched at €695,000.
