Pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) is to create 50 new jobs over three years in a €30m expansion of its manufacturing facility in Dungarvan, Co Waterford.
IDA Ireland is backing the investment. The plant will make a product aimed at helping people to stop smoking.
The announcement was made at the official opening of a recently completed €23m expansion at the site.
GSK employs 1,450 people in Ireland. It has two manufacturing plants in Dungarvan, where it is the largest employer. It also has businesses in Cork and Dublin.
The latest investment in Dungarvan is at the GlaxoSmithKline Dungarvan Limited site, which manufactures over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceuticals in tablet form for global markets, for brands such as Panadol, Panadol Extra, Coldrex and Solpadeine.
The second Dungarvan operation - GlaxoSmithKline Oral Care - makes denture care products.
