Oil projects keeping Kentz buoyant

Clonmel-based international engineering company Kentz Corporation, which floated on the London AIM market in February, has published results for 2007.

Revenues were up 47% to $544.6m, while pre-tax profits rose by 37% to just over $34m.

Kentz says high oil prices and the consequent focus on developing existing reserves should continue to benefit companies providing project services to oil companies, such as Kentz.

'The board believes commodity prices will remain strong and Kentz is well placed to benefit from continued growth in the mining and metals sector,' it said. Kentz added that it was not seeing any slowdown in the development of projects, either in upstream oil and gas or in refinery and petrochemicals expansion projects.
