British insurance group Prudential has said its net profits surged by more than a third in 2007 as the firm enjoyed an excellent performance in Asia. Net profits leapt 38% to £3 billion.
Chief executive Mark Tucker said 'spectacular growth' in Asia had been accompanied by a very strong performance in the US and profit growth in the UK.
Prudential's Asian profits rocketed by 28% to £1.1 billion. In Britain, profits jumped 25% to £1.1 billion.
