English Premier League football club Arsenal have announced a pre-tax profit of £20m for the six months to November 2007 - boosted by improved TV revenues and the continued success of the Emirates Stadium.

Broadcasting income was up £6.5m to £24.3m while matchday income is up more than £3m on a year earlier to £41.4m.

Equivalent figures for 2006 saw the club return an £8.5m loss - or £12.9m profit excluding exceptional charges.

Other contributing factors to the figures include the launch of Arsenal TV and the income boost provided by the summer Emirates Cup tournament which saw 110,000 fans visit the stadium for the tournament between the Gunners, Inter Milan, Paris Saint Germain and Valencia.

Arsenal's net debt has increased from £268.2m at May 31 2007 to £307.1m at the end of November, but the club said this was in line with its expectations.
