The Iraqi Ministery of Oil has approved an extension of Petrel Resource's oil agreement in the country.
An additional year of joint partnership has been agreed with the company and the state body and Petrel is due to meet shortly with the ministry to formalise agreements.
The company says it expects to embark on a new oil and gas field study as part of the new programme of activity.
