Bord Gáis has said it will not raise gas prices for residential and business users until at least October.
The company said it was able to freeze prices at a time of volatility in oil and gas markets because of its policy of buying gas 12 to 16 months ahead.
The current prices will be reviewed by the Commission for Energy Regulation during the summer for the year beginning October 1.
Many other European energy companies have announced price rises in recent weeks.
