Green light for Dublin terminal extension

Dublin Airport - €55m extension plan

An Bord Pleanála has granted the Dublin Airport Authority permission for a €55m extension to the existing terminal at the airport.

The DAA said work on the project would now begin next month and it was expected to be completed by the summer of 2009.

The authority says the 7,500 square metre extension, which will be built at the north-western corner of the terminal, will provide more circulation space for passengers, an enlarged and reconfigured check-in area at the northern end of the terminal, and additional retail space.

Fingal County Council granted the DAA planning permission last year, but the decision was appealed.
