New figures from the Central Statistics Office shows that production at manufacturing industries rose by 16.3% in November compared to the same month the previous year. Turnover was up 6.1%.
The CSO adds that the seasonally adjusted volume of industrial production for the three months from September to November was 3.1% lower than the preceding three month period.
The figures shows that the modern sector, which is made up of a number of high-technology and chemical industries, reported an annual production increase of 23.3%. However, the traditional sector's production was down 3.2%.
