The euro zone economy grew slightly faster than previously thought in the third quarter, the European Union's Eurostat data agency said today, revising its estimate to 0.8% from 0.7%.
However, Eurostat stuck with its previous growth estimate over one year of 2.7%.
The result marked a rebound from the second quarter when euro zone gross domestic product (GDP) grew 0.3% over one quarter and 2.5% over one year.
Meanwhile, the 27-nation EU economy grew 0.8% in the third quarter and 3% over one year, Eurostat said, revising higher its previous estimate of 2.9%.
The pick-up came despite distress on financial markets and record strength of the euro and oil prices, which have cast clouds over the outlook for growth this year.
