Waste management company Greenstar has confirmed the expansion of its household waste and recycling service into North County Dublin in an investment worth €7.5m over five years.
Greenstar will now compete directly with Fingal County Council. The company will start services on a phased basis from January and offers customers a fixed charge of €55.
Greenstar says it will also provide North Dublin's first kerbside glass collection, offer 10% lower costs per bin/kgs collected and 50% more free green bin collections than the Council.
Greenstar moved into the South County Dublin household waste collection market last August.
