AirAsia, Asia's largest low-cost carrier, has placed a firm order to buy 25 medium-haul Airbus A320 aircraft.
At catalogue prices the order would be worth €1.2 billion.
With the latest deal, AirAsia, which has operations in Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia, will have ordered 175 A320 planes, becoming Airbus's largest customer for the model.
A contract for the latest batch of A320s was signed today at the Langkawi Airshow in Malaysia.
The A320 can carry between 150 and 180 passengers, depending on its configuration.
