Pharmaceutical research and development company EirGen Pharma has won the 2007 David Manley Emerging Entrepreneur Award.
Based in Co Waterford, the company develops, registers and manufactures high potency solid dose products for global markets. High potency products are usually used in cancer treatment or for post organ-transplant treatment.
They are currently developing products for customers in the US, Canada, Europe and South Africa to treat advanced breast cancer, prostate cancer, lymph node cancer and bone marrow cancer.
The two co-founders of EirGen Pharma - Tom Brennan and Patsy Carney - developed the idea for the company while studying for their MBAs in 2004.
This is the fifth year of the David Manley awards.
