Crannagh & Co wins National Enterprise Award

Crannagh & Co has won the tenth annual National Enterprise Awards, held in Dublin Castle last night. The company - based in Belturbet in Co Cavan - provides international trade and business services to multi-nationals.

Organised by the 35 County and City Enterprise Boards around the country, the National Enterprise Awards is the largest competition of its kind for small business owners in Ireland.

Michelle and Carol Lynch run Crannagh & Co. Their clients include 17 of the Top Fortune 500 companies and 12 of the largest private companies worldwide. They advise on international trade requirements across the aviation, technology, healthcare, pharmaceutical and bloodstock industries.

Seftec Ltd, from South Cork, was named runner-up at the awards. The company manufactures and export safety-training products such as helicopter simulators.

Third place went to Mark Duckenfield and Conor McCarthy from Emergent Events in Dublin city. The company was set up to stage the annual Street Performance World Championships in Dublin, with the aim of becoming the largest free street event in the world.

Pamela Walsh and Mella Byrne from Starting Small, Standing Tall - a licensed creche, pre-school and after-school care facility in Limerick city - won the Corporate Social Responsibility Award.
