Drinks group Pernod Ricard has reported net sales of €1.56 billion for its first financial quarter to the end of September. This was an increase of almost 7% on the same period last year.
But the company said the increase was 11.6% when the effects of currency movements and changes in its structure were stripped out. Pernod Ricard estimates that currency movements knocked €60-70m off its profits in the quarter.
The value of Jameson sales increased by 24% compared with the same period a year earlier. Overall, Pernod's sprits sales were up 13.4%, while wines rose by 3.3%.
Net sales exclude duties and taxes.
