Pharmaceutical and healthcare group Wyeth is to invest more than €24m in a new development centre at its Wyeth Medica Ireland facility in Newbridge, Co Kildare.
The investment, backed by IDA Ireland, will create 20 research and development jobs over three years.
Wyeth's Newbridge manufacturing facility is one of the largest solid dosage pharmaceutical plants in Europe. Established in 1992, it employs more than 1,300 people. Wyeth has recently completed a €300m expansion at the site.
The company says the new centre new centre will help develop new drugs and products and will also help the Newbridge plant to attract new products coming from other Wyeth plants.
Overall, Wyeth employs more than 3,000 people at its five Irish facilities.
