The Aer Lingus Commerical Director, Enda Corneille, said today he is convinced the company has made the right decision to establish a new base in Belfast.
He predicted the service, including four daily flights to Heathrow, will be profitable during its first year of operation.
Speaking in Belfast, Mr Corneille said he expected Aer Lingus will carry half a million passengers on its Belfast routes and he said the company will target customers in border areas and elsewhere in the Republic as well as throughout Northern Ireland.
