Dublin is to get its first scheduled flights from flyglobespan next summer, when the airline launches a service to Calgary and Vancouver.
The web-based airline is to fly weekly to the Canadian cities from next May, with one-way prices from €356 (including taxes) available to book now.
The flight is expected to increase inbound tourism from Canada to Dublin.
Jayne Shackleford, Tourism Ireland Canada, welcomed the new flights.
'These new transatlantic routes will substantially expand air travel options for potential Canadian tourists flying into Ireland and will play an important role in growing visitor numbers even further from Canada', she said.
'In 2006 we welcomed 100,000 visitors from Canada to our shores, and our Canadian visitors are particularly important for us because of their length of stay and high spending profile', she said.
