Biopharmaceutical firm UCB Schwarz Pharma is to invest €7m in research and development at its plant in Shannon, Co Clare, where it employs 215 people.
The investment is being backed by Shannon Development.
The company is currently upgrading a manufacturing plant on its site to make a newly developed drug.
