Glanbia - Considering implications of fire

Glanbia Meats has said that it will resume slaughtering at its Edenderry plant in November.

The company has said that the slaughtering line in the Co Offaly factory escaped damage in a fire last month. However, the rest of the plant is still out of action following the blaze.

The limited resumption of work in Edenderry will allow some workers, who have been commuting to Roscrea at weekends, to resume more social working hours.

Slaughtering was moved to Glanbia's operation in the Co Tipperary town following the fire.

Glanbia has said it is still considering the implications of last month's fire.
