Thomas Read Group plans expansion

The Thomas Read Group is to expand after a new re-financing deal will give it around €60m to increase market share over the coming years.

Ulster Bank is providing a re-financing facility to the Dublin pub group.

TRG is also planning further expansion into different market segments over the next three years, it said today.

Thomas Read owns a portfolio of bars in Dublin including Bodega, Searsons, The Bailey,  Pravda, the Globe and Ri-Ra.

The refinancing follows the development and acquisitions of The Champagne Bar and The Winding Stair along with development of the new Tulfarris Hotel & Golf Resort.

Colin Motyer of Ulster Bank said today that the licensing sector is an increasing area of business for the bank.
